For one of our clients, one the most important savings bank in Europe, active in Romania within the corporate sector, we are looking for a Senior Legal Counselor & Compliance Officer.Responsibilities:- Providing all-round legal support to the branch’s operations, and in particular to support the legal documentation of credit (lending and derivative) transactions;- Defending the legal interests of the branch and assuring compliance with minimal legal requirements determined by Head Office;- Being responsible to control any risk, which might imply the impairment of the group’s reputation and integrity due to failure to act in compliance with applicable laws, (internal) regulations and ethical standards;- Reviewing loan documentation prepared by third parties (typically in case of syndicated loans, but also for example guarantees received, or transactions of other business units) and assuring compliance with valid credit decisions;- Assisting in the negotiations with clients and offering legal consultancy on contracts.
Cerinte
Requirements:- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a corporate banking environment, either as internal counsel or employee of reputable law firm acting as advisor to a bank;- Contractual and regulatory experience;- Working knowledge of local country and, increasingly, European/International Law in the areas of Civil, Contract, Mercantile, Banking law;- Solid research and analytical capabilities;- Thorough understanding of (corporate) banking and structured product concepts; - Fluency in written/spoken English is a must; any other foreign language is an advantage.
